I'VE BEEN READING UP ON JUVENILE OFFENDERS;
THEIR ARGUMENTS OF INSANITY, POOR
UPBRINGING, ABUSIVE BACKGROUNDS,
RETARDATION....ALL THE EXCUSES OF WHY MEN
SHOULDN'T BE EXECUTED FOR CRIMES COMMITTED
AS TEENAGERS. I WISH EACH OFFENDER COULD
TRULY SPEND LIFE WITH OUT PAROLE, CABLE TV,
HEATH CARE, COLLEGE COURSES, ETC...UNTIL
THEIR DEATHS TO REFLECT DAILY ON THE EVIL OF
THEIR SHORT LIVES. BUT SINCE LIFE USUALLY
MEANS PAROLE IN 10-20 YEARS, I'M GLAD THEY
RECEIVE DEATH. I PRAY TO GOD I NEVER
ENCOUNTER PEOPLE THESE DEMONS AND I'M HAPPY
THAT AT LEAST NO ONE ELSE WILL MEET THE
MURDERERS OF THESE TWO CHILDREN AND BE

I have recently been researching capital
punishment for my college paper and have
found many cases that have purely upset me,
but never in my life have I felt so sick and
so disgusted of the thugs we live with.
Being just a 16 year old myself I can't
imagine why they could harm something so
fragile in they way they did. Peace be with

situation before but I was lucky and I got
away without any harm and I just left! It
was a punk that lived in panama city so if
you have kids make sure you watch them
because I am 16 and it seems I wish I had no

I just read this story and I got so sick to
my stomach to know that there are people in
this world as cruel as these monsters that
killed two beautiful young girls. Their
punishment is well deserved and they do
deserve to die for the heinous crime that
they committed without remorse for human

First of all...I know that this might not
mean much to you guys...(jenny and liz's
parents) since so many people have visited
this website and probably left comments to
be read. But I just wanted to express to you
guys that many people may tell you that its
over and one day...this tragedy might be
laid to rest...however, i want to let you
guys know that i understand that these two
were your princesses...they were probably
everything to you. Life without them will

I am so very sorry this horrible nightmare
happened. Thirty one executions took place
during the time I worked in the Prison
System as a nurse. I am pro capital
punishment, and feel it should be exercised
more frequently, and definitely more
rapidly. I believe it WOULD be a deterrent
if it were an absolute fact that "you do the
crime, you die." Not 10-15 years later, but

news that they found their bodies, I
remember when I testified in the trial
against Derrick Sean O'Brein. All I want to

i am very sorry to read about what happened
to those to girls, i have known girls who
were brutally raped along with which one was
my mother when she was 16 almost 17 but i
never knew anybody who was killed until
recently. i moved to merced and met a really
sweet man who was friends with my father he
was the owner of a, if not the only decent
bar i have ever seen and every body loved
the place and there were never any fights
until one night last month when there was a
show going on and a girl asked him if she
could record her boyfriend playing in the
band. he said sure - she began recording
when a man and his two friends where angry
and worried about having a copy of their
faces on film and began pushing her around,
threatening her to turn it off. well he
tried to stop it - everything seemed fine
the rest of the night until almost closing
time when the two men left and when he went
through a long hallway to another room at
the end of the bar the one man who stayed
followed him back there and beat him so bad
he became brain dead. the man was said to
have held his head against the wall and
continued to punch him on the other side
smashing his brain, then the man just walked
out, by the time they found him he had to be
air lifted to another town and two days
later his heart was transplanted to a girl
who was in a car accident but he had
unwillingly left behind family and many
friends he never even knew he had. i had
only finally met him face to face the night
before it all happened and yet when i found
out i even felt like i lost someone very
special ...i will hopefully never lose a
child of my own to murder. i look at my sons
and hope and pray that they will always safe
so if you know of any other thing that i may
be able to do to keep these people from
being released after what they have done to
not just the victims but the friends and
family who have to live with it after, and
please pray for all of us who want the man
from that night found and put away for
taking our friend..

I heard about this page on the John Walsh
show, and when I went on to it I was
astonished both by the brutal acts that were
committed and the strength of the families.
Elizabeth, and Jenny’s families are in my
heart.

I love you, both. I will never forget your

Thank god there are still a "FEW" states
that take crimes like this to heart. I'm a
firm believer that the death penalty is
needed in some situations... This being one
of them. My only regret is that the youngest
of the offenders still has an opportunity at
having a life (Even if it's in his fifties.)

I send my deepest condolence for the the
lost of your children. I am doing an
argumentative essay on the death penalty,
and I wasn't sure on which position to take
if i were for or against the death penalty.
But after coming across this story, I was
crushed to hear about what happened to
Jennifer and Elizabeth. These girls were
beautiful, young, and innocent. I am totally

I really sorry to hear what has happened to
both Jenny and Elizabeth. I can't even
imagine what the families are going through.
I am currently doing a project in summer
school about making the death penalty a law
in every state. I personally am for it, but
there are people who are agaist it. I was a
bit unsure whether I was for it or against
it but after reading this story as well as
others I am totally for it. There are many
people out there who do get away with murder
and end up doing it again. No one really
knows how it feels to have a family member
killed until it happens to you. Jenny and
Elizabeth were both beautiful young girls
who I'm sure didn't deserve it. They will be
in prayers and I know that they will always
be with you (the families and friends)

it makes me sick to think that anyone could
do something this cruel. although sometimes
it gets hard just remember that god will
always help you through the bad times and
remember that there are people out there who
really care and feel (sad to say) close to
the same pain that you feel. just remember

So sorry for your loss. The death penalty
opponents always argue whether the accused
deserves to die. They should try asking
themselves if the accused deserves to live.
I do believe in rehabilitation; however, a
truly rehabilitated mind will accept the
punishment due for the crime committed.

As a mother of an 18 yr. old girl, my heart
goes out to the families of these girls. I
believe in an eye for an eye. The Death
Penalty should be used more frequently. We
have thousands of victims each year yet so
few executions. Where is the "Justice"?

I was only 12yrs old when Jennifer and
Elizabeth lost their lives. Despite my young
age, I will never forget learning the
horrible news of their deaths. You see, I
have a cousin whom I am very close with. To
protect her privacy I will not state her
name. I will however say that my cousin was
very close friends with Elizabeth Pena. To
this day I can still remember seeing my
cousin's reaction to the news of her
friends' deaths. I guess all I can say is
that my prayers go out to Elizabeth's and
Jennifer's families. I pray that Elizabeth
and Jennifer's souls find peace as well as
their loved ones. May God bless Jennifer and
Elizabeth and hold the two of them in his
loving arms as they rest in heaven. May the
Ertman's and Pena's meet their daughters
