No one can truly understand how family and friends hurt after the loss of a loved one until it happens to them. I feel a deep loss of love myself and can surely sympathize with Shanda's friends and family. April 16, 2005 my adopted sister was found strangled and her 11 month old son had been smothered, their bodies stuffed into a 36"x20" rubbermaid storage container, They weren't found for almost a week. the pain of that loss still cuts as deep today as it did when I received the call that she was gone. It hard to express how I feel so much sadness for someone I never met. I remember seeing the search party while the sun was shining, then hearing the news that she was found. The day became cloudy and the earth grieved for a beautiful lady,

Laura story was a scary experience for
me. My mother had helped with
candle-lightings for her. I was in the
newspaper with my sister and mother for
helping and I felt like I knew her. I
remember I had just come home from
church camp and my best friend gave me a
stuffed bear with a yellow ribbon and it

My heart goes out to Rachel's daughter
and her family. It never ceases to amaze
me how people can do these things to one
another. I too, lost a brother to murder
and "life" in prison is not
satisfaction. At least they have "life"
our loved ones do not.

Raquel and I went to Cullen Middle
School together and always had the
funniest "dispute" of whose name was
spelled incorrectly, since they were
spelled differently. She was a very
special person and my heart aches over
such a tragedy.

years later and your family is still in

First of all I just want to say that I
Love the Crouch/Blount Family and I will
always be a friend, my prayers will
forever be with and your family. As I
sit here today I think about how much I
miss my friend so dearly I start to cry.
She was my best friend and my sister.
Thinking back on when we fist met we
were in the 6th grade and she was my
first friend in middle school after that
were two peas in a pod :) when you saw
her you saw me. Raquel may not be here
in the flesh but her soul will forever
be with us. She is the angle that
watches over us to keep us safe. May God
be with the family and again my prayers
will forever be with you.

read with anger (and disgust) the story
and can only imagine the pain you feel.
Many of us will never know the pain of
losing a child but we can all share in
your fight to see that justice is served
and laws are changed. Freedom is not
free - it comes with a price. Freedom is
also a privilege that must be earned. I
know you will never forget - but a
strong faith in God will help you to
forgive and move forward. You may never
know what caused this person to commit
such a horrific crime, and knowing may
only add to your pain. But try to
forgive him, for forgiveness is of God.
Read Hebrews 12:1-3. Let your light show
love, especially for your grand
daughter's sake. My prayers are with
you. Keep looking up! SHE IS NOT DEAD -

from her picture I had seen her before
