I just wanted to say that my prayers go out to the family and especially her son, that God will protect him and give him peace and love as well as the rest of the family. My daughter Cynthia Tammy Hernandez was also murdered on June 11, 1999. Her then boyfriend of 1 1/2 months murdered her, she was only 20 yrs old, she would have been 21 on July 29, 1999. My heart goes out to the family of Trisha. I hope the young man who killed her goes to prison for the rest of his life. But, even that does not seem fare, for he will still be able to see his family and talk to them and trisha never will. My son was killed in a car accident two years ago, leaving behind a young wife and three little daughters, his wife didn't know how to cope, shortly after his death she became involved in an abusive relationship and when she tried to get out of it, her estranged boyfriend followed her, threatened her, stalked her and she was hiding out in motels when he found her, she had left two of my teenage daughters in the motel room while she ran across the street to a convenience store, he chased her up the stairs and while she screamed for the girls to open the door, he grabbed her, beating her in the face with a pistol, he then fired two shots into her head and another into the lower part of her body, killing her instantly, he then fired shots at bystanders, hitting an elderly lady in the leg as she pulled into the parking lot to register at the motel, this all happened on Saturday night and he turned himself in to the police on Tuesday. My granddaughters are sadly left with no parents and their mother's death was so senseless. I wish I knew the answer to save someone else from such tragedy, I do know the pain you are all feeling and I pray for all of you.

I am a friend of Trisha's sister Kathy. Even though we live so far away and do not see each other, I consider her one of my closest friends of 22yrs. I thank God I got a chance to see Trisha in March of 1998 when I came out to Colorado from New York to visit my long time friends. Isn't it weird how things work. I hadn't seen her in almost 16yrs before my trip. It was so devastating to me when Kathy told me what had happened. You never think anything like this could happen to you or the ones you love. I am in a similar situation now with a close friend of 17yrs. Audrey May Herron disappeared on August 29, 2002. She was returning home from her 3-11pm shift as a nurse in a nursing home. As a minister it puts me in a sticky situation when I have had to counsel someone living in an abusive situation, but I have always encouraged them to get away from the abuser. She was stabbed to death by her estranged husband who has just received a 12 year sentence. The family and I are heartbroken because even though a longer sentence will never bring her back, it would have helped to know he would never feel the sun on his face or hold his loved ones again, just as my dear sister Michelle will never do...

Hello. FOr those of you reading this who don't know who I am, I am Trystan's stepmom. He has been with us full time, as you well know since Trish was murdered. There will be an update soon since the person who committed the crime is goign to be formally sentenced August 9, 2002. It has been 2 years and I still can't believe it to this day. I am so sorry for your loss. My mother was murdered by her boyfriend in Sep of 1992. My mother was 37yrs old and had 3 children the youngest was only 10 months old. She was a victim of domestic violence/homicide. Her boyfriend, and father of her youngest child stabbed my mother 18 times in front of our family home in San Francisco. Thank you for your story about your sister. My sister Jayne was killed February 17, 2002 by her husband of 13 years. Since he poisoned her, the police are still waiting for the toxicology report to be able to charge him with murder. So, he remains free and is taking care of my nieces and nephews.

My best friend's sister, who was very pregnant and scheduled to be induced the next day, was recently murdered. Her 6 year old daughter and 26 year old husband were also murdered.
