I now plan to use Pam's story when I debate in favor of the death penalty because it is a perfect example of who the government ought to execute- there is no doubt about who did this to her, and the other side's defense is that the risk of executing an innocent person is too great. Your Pam was obviously a very strong woman. She did her best in her last hours to make sure he paid for what he had done to her and others. It's terribly unfortunate that our justices are so blind to what a monster Penry really is. I am a criminal law student at East Tennessee State University. Just yesterday Pam's case was discussed in class. We were all told that Penry was mentally just a child and that the death penalty would be cruel and unusual punishment in his case. Out of the entire class only two of us fought against that biased and untruthful statement. The only cruelty here is what Penry did to his victims and what the court system has done to your family.
