Our Layton would have turned 27 yrs. old on March 25th/06. I always wonder every day what he would be doing and where he would be living. I miss talking to him about what was happening in his life. I made a birthday cake to remember him as he always wanted a chocolate cake for his parties. I hope he had a party in heaven. Today is Valentine's Day 2006. I

I have not visited this site for quite some time but still think about Layton everyday.
I have been dealing with a serious health issue with my own son this last year and a close call like we experienced with my own son makes you appreciate the little things in life. Walking, talking, playing, breathing. Sometimes we don't say or show how we love, appreciate and cherish the ones dearest to us. My greatest regret is that I didn't say these things to Layton when I had the chance. I always thought them but never said them. Cherish everyday: the sights, sounds and smells and those people dear to your heart. Layton, I still miss you more everyday and it's very hard to get over the anger of how you were taken. I will never accept it and never forgive the ones responsible.

This will be our 4th Christmas without our dear son Layton. Time has healed some of the

Today Nov. 10/05 is the 4th anniversary of Layton's passing. Layton's Dad & I have thought about Layton constantly today and Paul
wondered if "Layton was thinking of us all today and wanting us not to be too sad". The

crash. He was dead right off the
place. He just like Layton was an aspiring young man with his whole future ahead of him.

adorable. I comfort myself with the thought that he is with god up in

I knew Layton through friends in Peace River and GP... When I read your side of the story I was brought to tears once again and realized how hard it is to lose someone you love so much. Today March 25th, 2005, would have been Layton's 26th birthday. We have thought about him very much today and have wondered if he were alive, where would he be working, living, and if he would have children yet. Time is healing our wound, but ever so slowly. We are so lucky to have our other two sons Les, and Lane & family, that give us such a purpose in life. Also the rest of our family & friends who continue to e-mail, phone, and visit us often. I am a Nigerian in abuja and its quite so deeply sad that a very promising young man was so brutally cut down prematurely, what kind of a society is that! From here we look up to you guys so this is really so hard for me to take. My heart goes out to his family. But please do try to forgive the murderers, i think its necessary for your own healings and for the grace of God to work in your lifes.
I know you will survive this. My mom died in 2001 as a result of medical negligence, we all felt great anger and a feeling for revenge for all involved, but in time we learnt to overcome our hate and move on. I know you all can do the same in time.

I have written before, but recently i too lost someone to the hands of someone else, he was only 19 and was someone who i had grown up
with, he was a great laugh, cheeky and always had a smile on his face. i know that before i expressed
my sadness for Layton's family and friends, but it is now that i can deeply express how sorry i am; going through such a thing myself has made me
realize you cannot understand what is going through one's mind until you endure the pain yourself. it deeply
saddens me, how life can be taken so soon,

I am so impressed with this site. I was happy to hear about the many people who still think of Layton each and every day. I didn't know Layton as well as most people, but it's nice to see that people still care. Nellie & Paul - my heart goes out to you still. I just wanted to express my most heart felt condolences to your family and I pray you have all the support you will need in the difficult months ahead. I lost my brother 8 years ago and I can honestly tell you there were time's when I honestly didn't think I could go on, I just couldn't comprehend that this could happen to such a wonderful person, I couldn't understand WHY this has happen. I am very sad at at this time. I miss Layton with such an ache in my heart. Christmas will be very difficult this year, as we have just recently on Nov. 29th, lost a very special Aunt of Layton. Auntie Carol passed away from cancer and is now in heaven with Layton. She was his Godmother, so is now taking care of him until I get there. I so look forward to being able to hug my 6'6 son again. Life is so empty now. We still have so many loved ones to be with, but never get over the feeling of losing our Layton. May God give us the strength to carry on without you Layton. (Love Mom)

Today is the Canadian Thanksgiving Holiday. In one month it will be 3 yrs. since the death of our dear son Layton. There is still not one hour of one day that I don't think of him and am constantly asking for his help in continuing on with my life. I have been given the chance to become a Creative Memories Consultant. I am preserving Layton's memories in acid free photo albums and
