I went to Smith High School with Crystal. We had classes together til I moved away and attended Western Guilford halfway through my 11th grade year. Crystal was one of the rare people you met who was beautiful on the inside and out. I would have lunch with her and Ashley( I think her last name was Spurr) sometimes. Crystal had such a bright future, and I am sorry that I just recently heard about this. This is something I just cannot believe, and I know the pain is very tough for the family. I remember her from Smith High School. Great personality. I'm only sorry I didn't hear about this before. I know this devastated a lot of people. The person that told me about this said Crystal's grandmother told him, and it completely floored him. It did me too. I am very sorry for your loss. I also lost my son to a violent murder. He and his three brothers were shot to death by their mother on October 26, 1997 in San Marcos Ca. My son Brandon was 14. His brothers were Austin 7, Brigham 6, and Matthew 4.
God bless you. I am very sorry that you at least couldn't get a death sentence. We were able to get a death sentence. It is really a very hollow victory, in that four wonderful boys are no longer with us. But I do wait for the day that I am able to see Susan Eubanks put to death. I probably have about a twenty years to wait.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your wonderful Crystal and the manner in which she died. I can understand your devastation at the plea bargain of second degree murder and the sentence of only 26-32 yrs. The same thing happened with my son's killers. God be with all of you.
